Irene Kowaliska, an artist of European formation and spirit, who was active in all fields of the applied arts: ceramics, embroidery, multi-media collages under glass, wallpaper, watercolours, and cloth items. Polish and Jewish on her father's side, she arrived in Vietri in 1931; in 1942, after going through alternating fortunes, she moved to Positano.
